Warhawks Win All 11 Events In Victory Over Titans

UW-Whitewater won all 11 events and defeated the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team, 161-28, on Saturday (Nov. 12) in Albee Hall.

Mitchell Bricco led UW-Oshkosh with a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly while the Titans placed second in the 200-yard medley relay and Ian Sewell was third in the 50-yard freestyle.

UW-Whitewater's Samuel Piette won the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke in times of 23.16 seconds and 2:05.13, respectively. He was also joined by Bruce Amundson, Alexander Gidlow and Cameron Gidlow on the Warhawks' 200-yard freestyle relay squad that was victorious in a time of 1:30.91.

Also producing winning swims for UW-Whitewater were Samuel Bowman in the 200-yard individual medley (2:03.42), Alex Carroll in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.79), Alexander Gidlow in the 100-yard freestyle (49.57), Cameron Gidlow in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:32.29), Loftus in the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.00), Kevin Lotzer in the 200-yard butterfly (2:09.88) and Steven Missak in the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.02).

The Warhawks' 200-yard medley relay team of Andrew Langenhahn, Loftus, Missak and Peter Theodore won with a time of 1:41.16.

Bricco finished second to Lotzer in a time of 2:11.46, and Sewell placed behind UW-Whitewater's Piette and Jarrett Malizio (25.90) with a time of 25.99.

The UW-Oshkosh 200-yard freestyle relay quartet of Bricco, Jacob Casper, Brandon Davison and Bryan Solomon finished in 1:48.69.

UW-Oshkosh travels to UW-Eau Claire for a dual meet next Saturday (Nov. 19).
