Titans Begin Season In Brown Deer Pool

UW-Oshkosh begins the 2016-17 men's swimming & diving season on Saturday (Oct. 22) at the Wisconsin College Showcase in Brown Deer.

The Titans then return home to Albee Hall for consecutive dual meets against Carroll University on Oct. 29 and UW-Whitewater on Nov. 12. Other home dual meets for UW-Oshkosh are against Lawrence University on Jan. 7 and Ripon College on Feb. 4.

The Titans' schedule also features road dual meets at UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 19, 17-time defending WIAC champion UW-Stevens Point on Dec. 9, Beloit College on Jan. 14 and UW-La Crosse on Jan. 21.

Last season, the Titans owned a 3-4 record in dual meets, defeating Lawrence University by scores of 133-55 and 122-53, and Ripon College by a result of 105-85.

Rounding out UW-Oshkosh's regular season schedule are the Carthage College Invitational on Dec. 1-3 and the University of Illinois-Chicago Diving Invitational on Feb. 4.

UW-Oshkosh concludes the season at the WIAC Championship on Feb. 16-18. The Titans finished fifth at last year's championship with 221 points.

Second-year UW-Oshkosh head coach Christopher Culp welcomes back six letter winners from last season's squad that established two individual program records.

Grady Hilgendorf returns to the Titans after finishing 10th in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2016 WIAC Championship while returnees Alec Marquardt and Tyler Shircel both placed 12th at the league championship in the 100-yard backstroke and 400-yard individual medley, respectively.

Also returning for UW-Oshkosh are letter winners Jacob Casper, Brandon Davison and Ian Sewell.

The NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championship will be held March 15-18 at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
