Eagles Win All 13 Events To Defeat Titans

UW-Oshkosh tallied seven second-place finishes during its 172-41 loss to the UW-La Crosse men's swimming & diving team on Saturday (Jan. 23) in Albee Hall.

The Titans' Tyler Shircel was mentioned in three second-place listings, including the 100-yard butterfly where he recorded a time of 57.22 seconds. He also completed the 200-yard individual medley in 2:09.92 while swimming the third leg of UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard medley relay that marked a time of 3:55.31.

Other members of the Titans' 400-yard medley relay group were Jacob Casper, Sam Green and Zach Hogan.

Casper and Hogan also contributed second-place swims with their times of 1:04.81 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 58.31 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, respectively.

Grady Hilgendorf was another second-place finisher for the Titans. His time of 18:08.48 was the runner-up performance in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining second-place finish came in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Members of a quartet that registered a time of 3:39.89 were Green, Hilgendorf, Alec Marquardt and Ian Sewell.

The Titans had three third-place finishes against the Eagles as times of 5:16.92 were marked by Hilgendorf in the 500-yard freestyle, 1:04.24 by Marquardt in the 100-yard backstroke and 54.89 seconds by Sewell in the 100-yard freestyle.

Finishing third for UW-Oshkosh were Green in the 500-yard freestyle with an effort of 5:27.47 and Sewell in the 50-yard freestyle with a performance of 25.29 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it visits Ripon College on Feb. 6.
