Shircel, Henke Lead Titans At Wisconsin College Showcase

Tyler Shircel and Tyler Henke both finished in the top 20 in a pair of events to lead the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team at the season-opening Wisconsin College Showcase on Saturday (Oct. 24) in Brown Deer.

UW-Oshkosh had top-25 finishes in 11 individual events and two relays at the non-scoring showcase.

Shircel was 15th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:24.30 and 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.90. He also added a 23rd-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:11.55.

Henke placed 15th in the 3-meter diving event with 144.85 points and 19th in the 1-meter competition with 157.20 points.

Rounding out the Titans' top-20 individual performances was Grady Hilgendorf's 20th-place effort in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:59.40.

UW-Oshkosh also placed 16th in both the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Jacob Casper, Zach Hogan, Shircel and Myles Taylor had a time of 1:46.19, while the 400-yard freestyle squad of Brandon Davison, Hogan, Shircel and Taylor produced a time of 3:35.50.

Completing UW-Oshkosh's top-25 finishers were Taylor placing 21st in the 100-yard butterfly (58.28) and 22nd in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.72), Casper 22nd in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:36.73), Lucas Meixner 23rd in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:51.47), and Hogan 23rd in the 100-yard backstroke (59.70).

UW-Oshkosh takes on Carroll University next Saturday (Oct. 31) in Waukesha.
