Warhawks Win All 13 Events To Defeat Titans

Brandon Davison and Myles Taylor both finished second in a pair of freestyle events during UW-Oshkosh's 145-72 loss to the UW-Whitewater men's swimming & diving team on Friday (Nov. 13) in Whitewater.

The Titans recorded second-place efforts in nine of the meet's 13 events, including the 50- and 100-yard freestyle categories where Davison swam to times of 25.12 and 55.35 seconds, respectively. Taylor was the runner-up in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle races with times of 1:52.88 and 5:11.04, respectively.

Taylor also swam the third leg and Davison the fourth on UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard medley relay team that finished third with a time of 3:58.97.

Tyler Shircel earned a pair of second-place finishes for the Titans as well, marking times of 1:07.05 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 2:11.89 in the 200-yard individual medley. He swam the second leg for UW-Oshkosh's 400-yard medley relay group.

Zach Hogan, the last member of the Titans' 400-yard medley relay contingent, added a second-place finish of 59.51 seconds in the 100-yard backstroke and a third-place performance of 2:00.92 in the 200-yard freestyle.

Rounding out UW-Oshkosh's second-place finishes was the 400-yard free style relay team of Rolando Colon, Sam Green, Grady Hilgendorf and Ian Sewell with a time of 3:39.99.

Green placed third in two events, the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.78 and the 200-yard individual medley with an effort of 2:18.60.

The Titans' remaining second-place finish belonged to Colon, who marked a time of 1:03.13 in the 100-yard butterfly.

UW-Oshkosh completed its third-place finishes with the swims from Hilgendorf, Sewell and Jacob Casper and the diving from Tyler Henke. Hilgendorf recorded a time of 25.53 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, while Sewell went 56.95 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle and Casper 1:07.15 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Henke scored 181.29 points in the 1-meter diving.

UW-Whitewater took first place in all 13 events, including the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races where Jonathan Jaworski swam to winning times of 22.41 and 48.90 seconds, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh will host UW-Eau Claire in its home opener next Saturday (Nov. 21) in Albee Hall.
