Titans Rise Above Red Hawks

UW-Oshkosh swept the top four places in the 100-yard backstroke during its 129-64 victory over the Ripon College men’s swimming and diving team on Saturday (Feb. 4) in Ripon.

The Titans' Eddie Dominguez (Jr. • Greendale) earned the win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.33, while Elliott Bartheld (Fr. • Onalaska) finished second in 1:02.61, Cole Becker (Fr. • Menomonee Falls) third in 1:03.71 and Matt Engelhardt (Jr. • DeForest) fourth in 1:03.77. Dominguez contributed another victory with his time of 23.66 in the 50-yard freestyle.

Dalton Anderson (Jr. • Elkhorn) then won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:07.18 and Quin Lenz (So. • Oshkosh) the 200-yard freestyle in 1:56.68.

UW-Oshkosh's remaining first-place finish came from the 400-yard freestyle relay, where Becker, Engelhardt, Zachary Hahn (Fr. • Hartford) and Jon Streich (Sr. • Hubertus) posted a time of 3:34.18.

Evan DuVall (Fr. • Sussex) compiled a pair of second-place showings with his times of 25.97 in the 50-yard freestyle and 1:08.30
in the 100-yard breaststroke. Other UW-Oshkosh men placing second were Engelhardt in the 100-yard freestyle at 51.78 and Nelson Figueroa (Fr. • Pleasant Prairie) in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:00.15.

UW-Oshkosh's quartet of Anderson, Nick Baus (So. • Fond du Lac), Nick Krueger (Fr. • Hartford) and Bobby Theer (Fr. • Green Oaks, Ill.) used 4:08.14 to complete the 400-yard medley relay.

The Titans totaled four finishes of third place, including a 100-yard freestyle time of 54.82 by Streich. Bartheld then needed 2:11.08 for the 200-yard freestyle, Figueroa 5:44.56 for the 500-yard freestyle and Lenz 1:08.81 for the 100-yard breaststroke.

UW-Oshkosh wraps up the regular season by hosting the UW-Oshkosh Diving Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 11) in Albee Hall.
