Titans Hold Seventh Straight Opponent Scoreless

Javier Simon scored twice en route to a 3-0 win for the UW-Oshkosh men's soccer team against Lakeland College on Tuesday (Sept. 22) in Sheboygan.

The Titans, who shut out their seventh straight opponent, have not allowed a goal in their last 663 minutes (663:13) of play. The shutout streak is UW-Oshkosh's longest since the 2010 season.

Simon opened UW-Oshkosh's scoring account in the 27th minute (26:11) and then doubled the worth with a goal off a pass from Michael Dugan in the 58th. The scores were Simon's first and second of the season.

Lakeland College (2-6) had a chance to even the score in the 36th minute, but a Titan defender blocked Mirko Tadic's shot.

UW-Oshkosh (6-1-1) held a 9-5 advantage in shots during the first half and took a 1-0 lead to intermission.

The Titans continued to pressure Lakeland College in the minutes following their second goal with shots from Dugan and Jacob Hernandez.

In the 67th minute (66:04), Trent Allison was able to find a third score for the Titans. The goal was his team-leading fourth of the season.

UW-Oshkosh's defense was troubled by only one Lakeland College shot for the rest of the game as the Titans closed out their ninth win over the Muskies in 11 meetings.

UW-Oshkosh ended the game with 16 shots and four corner kicks. The Titans were led by the three shots from both Hernandez and Simon.

Lakeland College finished with 10 shots and three corner kicks. Tadic led the Muskies with three shots.

Logan Massey played a full shift at goalkeeper for Lakeland College and recorded two saves.

The Titans travel to Chicago, Ill., on Friday (Sept. 25) for a match against North Park University.
