Titans Aim To Continue Undefeated Men's Soccer Season

UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater will battle for the top seed in the inaugural WIAC Men's Soccer Tournament on Saturday (Nov. 2). The Titans and Warhawks meet for the regular-season finale at 6:30 p.m. at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

One of four undefeated teams in the NCAA Division III, UW-Oshkosh (13-0-4/2-0-1 WIAC) is ranked sixth by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Titans have won eight consecutive matches.

UW-Whitewater (14-4-1/3-0 WIAC) has just one defeat in 23 conference matches since 2009. The Warhawks won WIAC titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The winner of Saturday's contest will be the top seed for the WIAC Tournament. The first-ever event features the league's top four teams squaring off on Nov. 6 and the championship match on Nov. 8.

UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater have a very competitive rivalry, splitting the last 15 meetings 6-6-3. Their matchups went to double overtime in 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2010.

At halftime, UW-Oshkosh will honor its 2003 Final Four team. That squad won 21 straight matches (16 shutouts) before falling to Trinity University in the national semifinal. UW-Oshkosh outscored its opponents, 56-8, during the season.

The Titans are also celebrating their 30th year of intercollegiate men's soccer. UW-Oshkosh owns 29 straight winning seasons and a 396-111-50 overall record.
