Titans Sweep WIAC Weekly Awards

Forward Ryan Hanna (So. • Verona) and defender Will Chaney (Sr. • Cedarburg) of UW-Oshkosh have been selected as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Men's Soccer Players of the Week for matches held Oct. 24-30.

Both players were instrumental in helping UW-Oshkosh post triumphs of 1-0 over UW-Superior on Oct. 29 and 7-0 over Finlandia University (Mich.) on Oct. 30.

Hanna was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week after taking part in the winning goal in each match.

Against UW-Superior, Hanna assisted on Tim Stadler's (Sr. • Wauwatosa) decisive goal with 5:23 left in regulation. The victory against the Yellowjackets clinched the Titans' 27th consecutive winning season.

Against Finlandia University, Hanna started things off for the Titans by scoring in the eighth (7:10) and 42nd (41:04) minute of play.  Hanna's first goal came off a pass from Stadler while his second came off a serve from Erik White (So. • East Troy). The goals were the third and fourth of the season for Hanna.

Chaney was voted the conference's Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring a backfield that pitched a pair of shutouts.

UW-Oshkosh tallied its ninth shutout of the season by limiting UW-Superior to just eight shots. The Titans increased their shutout total the next day by holding Finlandia University without a shot.
