Titans, Red Men Unable To Settle Dispute

Goalkeeper James Pike (Sr. • Wauwatosa) saved three shots in the second and final overtime period to preserve UW-Oshkosh's scoreless tie with the Carthage College men's soccer team on Saturday (Sept. 24) in Kenosha.

Pike finished the 110-minute contest with six saves. His total also included one save in the first half and two in the second. It was the 17th career shutout for Pike.

Carthage College (4-4-1) goalkeeper Milan Tijanic also saved six shots. Tijanic arrived at his total by stopping three shots in both the first and second periods.

UW-Oshkosh (5-1-2), ranked eighth in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, attempted 11 shots and eight corner kicks. The Titans were led by the three shots of Chris Kurth (So. • Green Bay) and the two of both Danny Karrels (Fr. • Port Washington) and Ryan Redmond (So. • Lake Elmo, Minn.).

Carthage College earned its second tie against UW-Oshkosh in six all-time meetings (1-3-2 record). The Red Men attempted 13 shots, with four of them belonging to Billy Hamilton and three to Dylan Tucker. Carthage College acquired three corner kicks.

UW-Oshkosh battles UW-Whitewater on Wednesday (Sept. 28) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
