Sowe Named WIAC Player Of The Week

The WIAC has named UW-Oshkosh forward Musa Sowe (Fr. • Gambia, West Africa) as its Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Sowe, a first-time honoree, was recognized for his performance in matches held Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

Sowe started a chain of goals for UW-Oshkosh as the Titans defeated previously once-beaten St. Norbert College, 5-0, on Sept. 30 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Sowe gave the Titans a 1-0 lead when he sailed a 20-yard kick into the goal at the 40:52 mark of the contest. The shot was one of two taken by Sowe in the match.

This season, Sowe has two goals for a UW-Oshkosh squad that is ranked 16th in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and 21st by D3soccer.com with an 8-1-1 record.

Anthony Heller of UW-Platteville was named the WIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
