Borski Collects CoSIDA Academic All-District Honor

UW-Oshkosh defender Jack Borski (Jr. • Madison) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Team for his exploits both on and off the soccer field.

Borski, who was voted to the 22-member College Division squad by sports information directors within the region, was named to the first team. He now has the opportunity to be selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America squad, which will be released in mid-November.

Borski has started all 16 matches that he has played in this season. His performance in the defensive backline has helped the Titans to eight shutouts, a 0.81 goals against average and a 13-3-2 record. Borski is credited this season with one goal and three assists.

Last season, Borski earned NCAA Division III All-North Central Region second team honors by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He totaled two assists while helping UW-Oshkosh to 10 shutouts, a 0.86 goals against average and an 11-5-2 record. Borski started all 18 matches that he played in.

In 2007, Borski started 20 of the 21 contests that he played in. He compiled five assists while helping the Titans to 13 shutouts, a 0.61 goals against average, a 17-3-1 record and an appearance in the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship.

Borski owns a 3.85 cumulative grade point average as a geology major. He is a member of two UW-Oshkosh organizations, the Geology Club and the Campus Community Food Garden.

The WIAC had one other player named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Men's Soccer Team, midfielder Tyler Holle of UW-Platteville. Holle was selected to the second team.
