Bio

Kyle Jones enters his third season as the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball program's top assistant coach in 2023-24.

In the 2022-23 season, the Titans secured their third WIAC regular season championship since 2019, and advanced to the national tournament for the seventh straight season. This streak is the second longest active streak in NCAA DIII. The season finished in the Elite Eight with a loss to Mount Union, the eventual national runner-up. It was the Titans third Elite Eight appearance since 2018. The season included an eleven-game winning streak in January and February. Levi Borchert was selected as the WIAC Player of the Year, an NABC First Team All-American, and a D3Hoops.com Second Team All-American. Eric Peterson and Hunter Plamann were selected as All-WIAC First Team members, while Quinn Steckbauer was selected as an Honorable Mention member. Peterson was tabbed to the WIAC All-Defensive Team.

In the 2021-22 season, Jones' first at UW-Oshkosh, the Titans finished 23-4, winning both the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and postseason titles. The Titans advanced to their sixth straight NCAA tournament, before falling in the second round. The Titans ranked fifth in the country in 3-point percentage defense at .272 and fifth for fewest turnovers with 9.4 per game. Prior to the national tournament, the NCAA Division III National Committee recognized UW-Oshkosh as having the best tournament resume in the country. Several Titans players received postseason honors, including Levi Borchert, who was recognized as the WIAC Player of the Year and NABC First Team All-American. Eddie Muench and Hunter Plamann were awarded All-WIAC First Team honors, while Quinn Steckbauer was All-WIAC Honorable Mention and Eric Peterson was tabbed to the WIAC All-Defensive Team.

Jones came to UW-Oshkosh from Carroll University, where he was the associate head men's basketball coach and spent eight seasons on the Pioneer sidelines. Jones also served as an assistant director of graduate admissions at the school.

Jones and Carroll University produced a 20-5 record in 2016, finishing second in the Midwest Conference standings before the Pioneers moved to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin for the 2017 campaign. The Pioneers paced the CCIW in free throw percentage in 2017, steals in both 2019 and 2020, and scoring defense and turnover margin in 2020.

Jones played basketball at Carroll University and started all 99 games for the Pioneers from 2008-12. Carroll University compiled a 61-38 record during those four seasons and advanced to the second round of the 2012 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Championship after winning the MWC Tournament.

Jones finished his playing career with 1,054 points to become the program's 15th player to reach 1,000. He ranks fourth in Carroll University history with 182 career 3-pointers.

Jones is a 2008 graduate of East Troy High School. He earned a pair of degrees from Carroll University, a bachelor's in business management in 2012 and a master's in business administration in 2015.
