Titans Receive National Team Academic Award

The UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team was recognized for its academic success by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) today.

UW-Oshkosh compiled a 3.090 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) during the 2019-20 school year to earn one of the 310 Team Academic Excellence Awards created by the NABC Committee on Academics.

Started eight years ago, the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 season. In order to earn this award, institutions in the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA must count the GPAs of all men's student-athletes who competed during the 2019-20 season.

The Titans received this award one other time (2014-15).

In addition to UW-Oshkosh, other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools receiving the 2019-20 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award were UW-Eau Claire, UW-Platteville and UW-Stevens Point.

UW-Oshkosh concluded the season with a 20-9 record. The Titans made their fifth straight and 10th overall trip to the Division III Championship. Their season concluded in a tight matchup at North Central College (Ill.) in the second round of the championship.
