UW-Oshkosh To Hold Boys Basketball Camps

UW-Oshkosh head men's basketball coach Pat Juckem and his staff are holding camps for boys of all ages this summer.

Fundamental Skills Camp • Grades K-9

June 24-27

Fundamental Skills camp is designed to improve and master the vital skills necessary for success in the game of basketball. Each day there will be an emphasis on a fundamental component of the game. Campers can expect to practice shooting, passing, catching, ball handling, rebounding and defense. All drills are introduced and taught based upon ability and age level. The basic concepts of 5-on-5 and game strategy will also be covered.

Shooting Camp • Grades 2-12
June 28 or August 1

Our one-day Shooting Camp is focused on the fundamental development and mastery of shooting technique, form and proper repetition. Campers will also learn the differences between shooting off the dribble and off the catch. In this camp, each participant will take approximately 500 game-speed shots. In addition, each camper will compete in over 12 different shooting drills that can be taken with them to practice once the camp is completed.

Full Day Camp • Grades 2-9
July 22-25

The Full Day Camp stresses fundamentals while incorporating team concepts and play. Special emphasis will be placed on individual offensive and defensive skills. The camp will utilize innovative drills, competitions and games to teach the fundamentals. Sessions will include instruction on ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork and advanced skill development, along with team offensive and defensive concepts.

Summer Competition Camp • Grades 2-10
July 29-31

The Competition Camp will be one of the most entertaining camps at UW-Oshkosh. This camp is designed to offer various competitions to improve the overall skill and speed of play of each camper. Awards are given for each competition, and campers are divided based upon age and skill level. Campers will spend time on skill development sessions before each competition. Contests include: buzzer beater, Larry Bird shooting, Hot Shot, 3-on-3, Rapid Fire lay-ups, Partner 21, and many more. Team offensive and defensive concepts will be taught daily, and campers will play 5-on-5 games each day.
