Marsh Named NCAA All-American

UW-Oshkosh forward D.J. Marsh (Sr. • Bayside) has earned D3Hoops.com All-America honors for the second consecutive season. Marsh was named to the second team after picking up third-team accolades in 2009.

The only other players in school history to achieve NCAA Division III All-American status were Tim Dworak (2002 & 2003) and Dennis Ruedinger (1996).

D3Hoops.com named five players to both its first team and second team. The first-team selections were Steve Djurickovic (Carthage College), Sean Wallis (Washington University), Blake Schultz (Williams College), Todd Phillips (Eastern Mennonite) and Tyler Sanborn (Guilford College). The second team included Marsh, along with Corey McAdam (Nazareth College), Darnell Braswell (DeSales University), Tim McCrary (Wheaton College) and Marcel Esonwune (York College).

During the 2009-10 season, Marsh started all 25 games for the Titans. He averaged 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest while shooting 50 percent (184-368) from the field, 33 percent (17-51) behind the three-point arc and 86 percent (172-199) at the free-throw stripe. Marsh tied for the WIAC lead in scoring and ranked third in the league in rebounding and fifth in free-throw percentage.

Marsh tallied five double-doubles, including 38 points and 14 rebounds in the Titans' 90-87 loss to the University of Puget Sound (Wash.) on Nov. 27. He also counted 37 points and 11 rebounds in UW-Oshkosh's 100-51 win over Silver Lake College on Feb. 20 and 33 points and nine rebounds in the Titans' 87-75 triumph over UW-Stout on Jan. 16. Marsh scored 10-plus points in 23 of UW-Oshkosh's 25 contests.

Marsh started all 105 games that he played in for the Titans. His career totals include 1,800 points, 681 rebounds, 235 assists and 133 steals. Marsh compiled shooting marks of 51 percent (627-1,230) from the field, 33 percent (66-199) from three-point range and 83 percent (480-576) at the free-throw line. Marsh's career point total ranks third in UW-Oshkosh history and 15th in WIAC archives.

Marsh has also been selected to the all-region first team by both D3Hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The NABC placed him on the All-West First Team for the second consecutive campaign. Other members of the squad are Dustin Mitchell (UW-Whitewater), Tyler Nicolai (St. Thomas), Chris Blees (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps) and Matt Moses (UW-Stevens Point). Marsh is joined on the D3Hoops.com All-West Team by Central College's Miguel Ley, UW-Platteville's Curt Hanson, Willamette University's Cameron Mitchell and Whitworth University's Nate Montgomery.
