Kasuboski To Play In Tropical Bowl

UW-Oshkosh tight end Justin Kasuboski is one of five NCAA Division III players selected to participate in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl on Saturday (Jan. 15) in Orlando, Fla. Kickoff for the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision level all-star game is set for 4 p.m. (EST) at Camping World Stadium.

Saturday's contest between Kasuboski's National Team Black and the National Team White will showcase some of the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and general managers.

Kasuboski, who will wear No. 46 for the game, earned D3football.com All-Region 6 Third Team and All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team honors in 2021 after collecting All-WIAC First Team accolades in 2019.

Kasuboski recorded career highs of 25 receptions, 259 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2021 to cap his four-year UW-Oshkosh career with 47 catches for 510 yards and six scores in 42 games. Kasuboski was a key component to a Titans offensive line that concluded the 2021 campaign ranked second in Division III by allowing just 2.5 tackles for loss per game while paving the way for 5.6 yards per carry and 19 rushing touchdowns.

Kasuboski, an Omro High School graduate, was also a standout in the classroom, receiving 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-District 6 First Team honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America in addition to being a four-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll. Kasuboski, who helped UW-Oshkosh win WIAC titles and clinch NCAA postseason berths in both 2017 and 2019, boasted a 3.55 cumulative grade point average.

The other NCAA Division III players on the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl rosters are Concordia University Wisconsin cornerback Josiah McDermit and Illinois College defensive end Jaylin Swan on Kasuboski's National Team Black, and State University of New York Buffalo State College long snapper Cole Jenkins and SUNY Cortland defensive lineman Devin Smith on National Team White.

The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl will be streamed live on a pay-per-view basis via the Varsity Sports Network for $19.99.

UW-Oshkosh offensive tackle Joe Blitstein will also be playing in an all-star game this weekend. Blitstein will be competing in the Dream Bowl on Saturday in Salem, Va. Kickoff is 7 p.m. (EST) from Salem Stadium.

The Dream Bowl is a College Football All-Star Showcase of the best Division I Football Championship Subdivision, Division II and Division III players from across the country. The game and the series of events held over Martin Luther King Weekend are a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.

Kasuboski previously played in the College Gridiron Showcase on Jan. 9 in Fort Worth, Texas, and the FCS National Bowl on Dec. 12 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Titans also had linebacker Nick Noethe participate in the FCS National Bowl and offensive guard Hunter Schultz in the Podyum All-Star Bowl on Jan. 8 in Miami, Fla.
