Titans Try To Remain In Playoff Hunt At Eau Claire

UW-Oshkosh can complete a perfect WIAC road record for the third straight year when it visits UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 9). The Titans and Blugolds will kick off at 2 p.m.

After posting 4-0 conference road marks in 2011 and 2012, UW-Oshkosh has a 2-0 record this season. The Titans' last defeat came at UW-Stout in 2010.

UW-Oshkosh (7-1/4-1 WIAC) is ranked eighth by D3football.com. The Titans ran for 245 yards in a 35-20 victory over UW-Stevens Point last week. Cole Myhra scored three times, and he now has 33 touchdowns in the last 18 games.

For the season, Myhra owns 751 rushing yards and 260 receiving yards. Myhra averaged 3.7 yards in the first four games, but he's upped that to 5.4 over the last four contests. Nick Olla ranks third in the WIAC with 236 passing yards per game. Receiver Caleb Voss (552 yards) needs six catches and 37 yards to take second place in school history for both categories.

Teams have been going to the air against the Titans recently. The past three weeks, opponents attempted to pass 51 times per game. UW-Oshkosh has excelled in those situations, leading the league in sacks (29) and interceptions (17).

UW-Eau Claire (1-7/1-4 WIAC) boasts the WIAC's leading rusher in Joel Sweeney, who has 873 yards and nine touchdowns. Sweeney ran for 192 yards and three scores during last week's 35-27 defeat at UW-Stout. The Blugolds earned their lone win this season by a 13-6 score over UW-River Falls.

Mark Munger directs the passing game with 1,118 yards, three touchdowns and seven interceptions. UW-Eau Claire's top receivers are Alex Plaster (270 yards) and Nick Hirsch (241). Defensively, Sean Graham leads the Blugolds with 67 tackles.

Last season, UW-Oshkosh broke school records with 442 rushing yards and 35 first downs in a 50-13 triumph over the Blugolds. UW-Eau Claire owns a 41-23 edge in the series dating back to 1937.
