Titans Wrap Up Non-Conference Play Against MSOE

GLENDALE, Wis.- In their final non-conference game of the regular season, the UW-Oshkosh baseball team (24-9, 15-5 WIAC) lost to the Milwaukee School of Engineering (21-12, 12-8 NACC).

Matt Sorrells made his first start since April 14 at UW-Stout for the No. 15 nationally ranked Titans, facing off against the Raiders' Luke Schraufnagel.

Ethan Schreier doubled down the left field line in the top of the first inning to send Jake Surane home and later scored on an error to give UWO an early 2-0 lead.

MSOE got a run back in the bottom of the second off an RBI single to left field by Nolan Wojciechowski.

Oshkosh scored twice over the third and fourth innings with a single to shortstop by Nicholas Shiu and a groundout to shortstop by Schreier.

The Raiders tied the game up, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. They later walked off the game in the bottom of the ninth when Blake Hall hit a single back to Logan King.

Surane went three-for-five in the game with a double and a run scored.

Joe Giricz (1-0) earned the win with 1.0 innings pitched. He allowed no runs on a walk with two strikeouts. King (2-3) was assigned the loss, allowing a hit to the only batter he faced.

Looking Forward

The Titans will return to action on Saturday and Sunday (May 5-6), traveling to Stevens Point to take on the No. 21 Pointers for four games in the final conference play weekend of the season.
