Brahier, Eagan Collect All-Region Awards

Freshmen Andy Brahier and John Eagan have been selected to the All-Midwest Region Third Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

Brahier and Eagan, who are tied for third in the WIAC with 68 hits apiece, were also named to the all-conference first team following their debut collegiate seasons.

Brahier hit a team-leading .384 with 15 doubles, 44 runs batted in, and 86 total bases. The first baseman also led the Titans with 22 multi-hit and 11 multiple-RBI contests in his 43 starts. Defensively, Brahier committed just five errors in a WIAC-best 371 chances.

Eagan ranks second in the conference with 49 runs and 23 stolen bases from atop the UW-Oshkosh batting order and led the Titans with a .462 on-base percentage. Eagan batted .382 with 12 doubles, 26 runs batted in, and 82 total bases in 43 starts. Defensively, the center fielder did not commit an error in 88 chances.

The ABCA All-Midwest Region teams featured 15 players on the first team, 16 on the second team and 19 on the third team.

Brahier was the only first baseman selected to the All-Midwest Third Team. One first baseman was named to the first team and two first basemen earned second-team honors.

Eagan was one of five to earn third-team laurels in the All-Midwest outfield. Four outfielders were selected to the first team and three to the second team.

Taylor Kohlwey from UW-La Crosse was named the ABCA Position Player of the Year while UW-Stevens Point’s Mitch Beau took home Pitcher of the Year honors.

UW-Oshkosh, which eclipsed the program record with 96 stolen bases, won 17 of its last 22 games to finish the season with a 26-17 record. The Titans placed fourth in the WIAC standings with a 14-10 record and third at the WIAC Tournament.
