Terms of Employment: Fixed term-terminal 
Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Head Men's and Women's Track and Field Coach. This is a full-time, twelve-month position. This position is responsible for all facets of planning, organizing and leading highly competitive Division III Track and Field program through recruitment of quality student-athletes and successful coaching of those individuals.
Responsibilities

Coaching

1. Understand and develop plans for student-athlete success on and off the track or field of competition.

2. Plan, organize, and execute all in-season practice sessions, competition plans, and team meetings.

3. Collaborate and plan with staff to implement strength and conditioning for track and field student-athletes.

4. Continually evaluate each individual student-athlete's needs and short/long term goals.

Administrative

1. Devise schedule for competition including all travel arrangements for all away meets (including transportation, lodging, food).

2. Coordinate home meets including scheduling of workers and officials as well as meet entries.

3. Assign coaching and recruiting responsibilities to and supervise the work of assistant coaches.

4. Oversee compliance with NCAA and WIAC rules and regulations. Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and policies of all governing bodies (UW-Oshkosh, WIAC, and NCAA).

5. Establish and execute a successful fundraising plan for the program.

6. Promote the program, athletic department, and university, as a whole, through camps, clinics and speaking engagements.

7. Develop and maintain relationships with UW-Oshkosh track and field alumni and friends.

8. Maintain responsibility for all program expenditures and revenues.

9. Monitor student-athletes in their academic performances, to assure a timely progress to degree completion.

10. Take part in professional development and educational activities to learn new ideas, concepts and changes that occur in track and field at the conference and national level.

11. Attend departmental meetings, organizational efforts and departmental activities.

12. Manage and communicate with the coaching staff and resources, as well as maintaining a positive collaboration with support staff.

13. Create and maintain an environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity. Set clear guidelines for expected behaviors and clear methods of reporting inappropriate behavior.

Recruiting

1. Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.

2. Follow recruiting guidelines of UW-Oshkosh, the WIAC and the NCAA.

3. Work collaboratively within the university to plan, organize, implement, and follow up on an extensive on-going recruiting effort through written, verbal and personal contact with student-athletes and their families.

Campus/Community Engagement

1. Cultivate team community service activities, develop and promote support of UW-Oshkosh Track and Field and athletics as a whole in the Fox Valley Community and within campus.

2. Work with the university marketing team on game environment and community outreach initiatives.

3. Emphasize the athletic department goal of supporting fellow men's and women's sport programs.

Qualifications Required:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Demonstrated success in coaching collegiate track and field
3. Demonstrate the understanding of the NCAA Division III Philosophy
4. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
5. Valid driver's license

Preferred: 1. Master's degree
2. Experience in home meet management
3. Experience in managing a budget
4. Demonstrate familiarity with national trends and best practices related to diversity, inclusivity, undergraduate retention programs and practices, academic support services, and campus climate issues.
