Fans Help Donate $1,100 To Local Causes

At halftime of the Nov. 2 football game against UW-Stevens Point, the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department presented two checks to local organizations.

During their 2012 and 2013 seasons, the UW-Oshkosh gymnastics and wrestling teams selected the Christine Ann Center and Cerebral Palsy Mideast Wisconsin to receive tips from concession stands at their meets. Because of the generous donations from our fans, a total of $1,100 was collected to present to these organizations.

Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin provides services and programs that help people and families touched by cerebral palsy, physical & developmental disabilities and other behavioral challenges.

Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services is a non-profit agency that serves individuals and families in Winnebago and Green Lake counties who are struggling with the effects of domestic abuse. The organization also educates the community on the dynamics of abuse and how to help in the fight against domestic violence.

Concessions donations from the 2013-2014 men’s and women’s basketball games will go to My Team Triumph, a non-profit athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally be unable to experience endurance events such as triathlons and road races.
