Our Gratitude For Your Help In Supporting Local Families

UW-Oshkosh and its Athletics Department would like to express gratitude to the community members and organizations that helped with the mobile food pantry on Dec. 20.

Partnering with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, we distributed 35,000 pounds of food to local families. Dozens of university staff, coaches and student-athletes volunteered their time with the unloading, setup, distribution and cleanup in Kolf Sports Center.

At UW-Oshkosh, we are proud of each and every service-learning opportunity we can provide our students, especially when it involves collaboration with local, regional and national organizations committed to making our communities safer, healthier and more prosperous.

This event would not have been possible without assistance from the J. J. Keller Foundation, Oshkosh Hunger Task Force, Oshkosh Area Community Pantry, the Oshkosh Police Department, Father Carr’s Food Bank, Fox Communities Credit Union, Northwestern Mutual – The Blevons Group, Titan Touchdown Club, University Police, UW-Oshkosh Student Affairs and UW-Oshkosh Facilities Management.

Within the athletics department, UW-Oshkosh head football coach Pat Cerroni was the driving force behind the event. A special thanks also goes to Graciela Godfrey-Hernandez, who shared and helped bring the vision of holding a food pantry on the UW-Oshkosh campus to reality.

Once again, thank you for your support, and we wish you happy holidays.

Sincerely,

Director of Athletics Darryl Sims
Chancellor Richard Wells
