Soccer Teams Receive NSCAA Academic Awards
UW-Oshkosh is the only WIAC school to have both its men’s and women’s teams recognized with a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
The Titan women, coached by Erin Coppernoll, posted a grade-point average of 3.05 during the 2011-12 school year. On the field, UW-Oshkosh went 12-7-4 and reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship.
Wytse Molenaar’s Titans also compiled a 3.05 GPA last year. UW-Oshkosh finished 10-6-2 for its 27th straight winning season.
UW-Oshkosh was the lone WIAC men’s team to reach the standard of a 3.0 GPA. The other women’s teams recognized were UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse and UW-Superior.
The Titan men previously earned this honor in 2007, 2008 and 2011. UW-Oshkosh received the women’s team award during 2008.
A total of 187 colleges had both their men’s and women’s squads named.
