Ground Broke On New Outdoor Track

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department is excited to announce that the construction of a new track at Titan Stadium has recently begun.

An official groundbreaking ceremony occurred on Wednesday (April 26). UW-Oshkosh Assistant Chancellor, Athletics Darryl Sims and Assistant Athletic Director/Senior Women Administrator Abby Gildernick were joined by head track & field coach Justin Kinseth, track & field student-athletes Londyn Little and Megan Hunt, UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Andrew Leavitt, and representatives from both the UW-Oshkosh Student Government and Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Abby Albright.

The Titan track & field teams have been without a home outdoor facility since 2014 after hosting the WIAC Outdoor Championships and UW-Oshkosh NCAA Qualifier that season.

The project, designed by the Rettler Corporation and contracted by Millbach Construction, is scheduled to wrap up in late summer. It includes a nine-lane track with two jump pits, two high jump aprons and a dual-direction pole vault lane with two throwing rings situated on the north end of the facility.
