Berghammer, Jurva and Schiro Earn WIAC x Kwik Trip Player of the Week

Madison, Wis.- Kobe Berghammer of football, Joey Jurva of men's diving, and Francesca Schiro of women's swimming were named WIAC x Kwik Trip Player of the Week for Nov. 7-13. 

Berghammer was named the offensive football Player of the Week for the third time this season, also earning recognition for the weeks of Sept. 26 – Oct. 2 and Aug. 29 – Sept. 4. In a 61-0 victory over UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 11, Berghammer threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns, completing 18 of his 25 passes. He also added a season-high 154 rushing yards with two touchdowns. It was UW-Oshkosh's second consecutive shutout, and their first time recording back-to-back shutouts to end the season since 1976. The Titans recorded 683 offensive yards, setting a season high. The 683 yards sits third all-time, behind the 684 yards the Titans recorded at UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 5, 2011.

Jurva is the second member of the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming and diving team to earn WIAC Player of the Week recognition; Ben Knoeck was named for the week of Oct. 24-30. Jurva took two second-place finishes in the one- and three-meter diving events in UW-Oshkosh's second-place team finish at the Gene Davis Invitational hosted by Lawrence University (Wis.). He scored a 326.55 in the one-meter dive and a 321.30 in the three-meter competition, both season highs.

Schiro was named the women's swimmer of the week once before this season, for the week of Oct. 10 – 16. This is the third week in a row a member of the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming and diving team was named WIAC Player of the Week. Abbi Priestley was named last week, and Brianna Wesenberg was named the week before. Schiro grabbed two first-place finishes for the Titans in the Gene Davis Invitational. She finished the 200-yard freestyle in 1:59.73, a season best, and the 100-yard freestyle in 55.01 seconds.
