Jarvis, Ogbuli Presented With UW-Oshkosh Coaches Award

All-America performers Rahdea Jarvis in gymnastics and Robert Ogbuli in track & field have been selected as the 2022 recipients of the UW-Oshkosh Senior Coaches Award.

Jarvis was named the women's winner of the Phyllis Roney Award while Ogbuli was chosen as the men's winner of the Jim Flood Award.

Both awards are presented annually to a male and female student-athlete who has displayed leadership qualities, skill, character, attitude, courage, achievement, service to the community, contribution to the team, sportsmanship, dedication, and loyalty to the UW-Oshkosh athletics program.

Jarvis is a two-time All-American who helped UW-Oshkosh win the 2022 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association championship and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in 2020 and 2022.

Jarvis finished fifth in the country on the uneven bars this past season as the Titans captured the NCGA title with a Division III-record score of 194.100. She also competed on the vault and in the floor exercise at the national meet for UW-Oshkosh, which claimed the third NCGA championship in program history and first since 2007.

Jarvis, who collected her first All-America honor by placing eighth on the vault at the 2019 NCGA Championship, earned five All-WIAC awards during her career - floor exercise (2020), uneven bars (2019, 2022) and vault (2020, 2021).

Jarvis graduated from UW-Oshkosh in May. She compiled a 3.68 cumulative grade point average while majoring in business administration. She was named to the NCGA All-America In Academics Team in 2022 and the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-America Team in 2020 and 2021. Jarvis is a three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll.

Jarvis, a Brookfield Central High School alumna, attended the 2020 National Collegiate Athletic Association Career in Sports Forum and represented UW-Oshkosh at the 2019 WIAC Student-Athlete Leadership Conference.

Jarvis, whose volunteering efforts include assisting at the Oshkosh Food Pantry and mentoring at Oakwood Elementary School in Oshkosh, has held internships with UW-Oshkosh Athletics, Oshkosh Arena and Titan Property Management.

Ogbuli acquired five All-America awards and a pair of conference championships during his track & field career with the Titans.

This past season Ogbuli finished seventh in the 200-meter dash as UW-Oshkosh won its first WIAC indoor title since 2001. He also placed first in the 400-meter relay and fifth in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes to help the Titans claim their first WIAC outdoor crown since 1990.

Ogbuli additionally earned All-America honors with his fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash at last month's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship. The Titans ranked 10th in the team competition with 22 points.

Ogbuli previously picked up All-America citations with his 400-meter relay finishes of fourth in 2019 and fifth in 2021 at the Division III Outdoor Championships. In 2020, he was named an All-American in the 60-meter dash after the novel coronavirus pandemic canceled the Division III Indoor Championship. UW-Oshkosh finished third at the Division III Outdoor Championship in 2021 and fourth in 2019.

The Plainfield East High School (Ill.) graduate also was a member of the Titans' first-place 400-meter relay team at the 2019 WIAC Outdoor Championship.

Ogbuli received all-region indoor honors in the 60-meter dash from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in 2021 and the 200-meter dash in 2002. He garnered all-region outdoor accolades in the 400-meter relay in both 2019 and 2021.

Ogbuli's volunteer efforts included work with Oshkosh Salvation Army, Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift & Furniture Store in Oshkosh and Senior Star Nursing Home in Romeoville, Ill.
