Projection Of Rain Alters Weekend Baseball, Softball Schedules
The forecast of rain for Saturday (April 30) has postponed Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheaders for the UW-Oshkosh baseball and softball teams.
UW-Oshkosh (19-10, 13-5 WIAC) was scheduled to play baseball doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday (May 1) at UW-La Crosse (17-13, 11-9). Those games have been moved to Sunday and Monday (May 2) and will start each day at 12 p.m. from Copeland Park in La Crosse. UW-Oshkosh will take a nine-game winning streak into Sunday's contests.
In softball, nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh (22-6, 8-2 WIAC) was slated to play a pair of games at UW-Eau Claire (21-7, 7-3) on Saturday. The doubleheader has been rescheduled for Monday and will begin at 1 p.m. from Bollinger Fields in Eau Claire.
UW-Oshkosh, ranked 19th in the NCAA Division III by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, will also visit UW-Platteville (12-16, 4-6 WIAC) for a league doubleheader on Sunday. The first pitch will be thrown at 2 p.m. from the UW-Platteville Softball Complex.
