UW-Oshkosh Announces Immediate Masking At Home Athletic Events

Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 conditions around the world, in the country, in Wisconsin and in the Oshkosh community, masks will be required to be worn at all home UW-Oshkosh athletic events in the month of January.

The mask requirement begins Wednesday (Jan. 5) when the nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team hosts UW-Whitewater at 7 p.m. in Kolf Sports Center.

"UW-Oshkosh is taking this proactive measure to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, event staff and spectators," said UW-Oshkosh Director of Athletics Darryl Sims. "As we continue to see daily increases in COVID-19 cases, particularly the Omicron variant, our current outlook warrants this protective step. I do want to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and support."

Fans are encouraged to bring their own mask to Albee Hall and Kolf Sports Center as a limited number of masks will be furnished to spectators.
