Winter Storm Puts Titans On Road For Remainder Of Season

The nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh baseball team has won 14 of its 18 games this season, but Tuesday (April 17) afternoon the Titans lost their battle with Winter Storm Evelyn as the safety net located at the team's home facility of Tiedemann Field collapsed and has forced them to play their remaining contests of the 2018 season on the road or at a neutral site.

Winter Storm Evelyn arrived in the Oshkosh area Saturday (April 14) and dropped nearly 16 inches of snow over a 48-hour period. Coupled with high winds and temperature in the high 20s, snow and ice accumulated on the safety net behind home plate at Tiedemann Field and eventually fell to the ground. The Titans' batting cage area located behind the left-field fence also received damage.

UW-Oshkosh, ranked 16th in the NCAA Division III by D3baseball.com, was able to host four home games before Winter Storm Evelyn took place.
