Keene Runs To All-America Finish At NCAA Championship

Senior Ashton Keene concluded her UW-Oshkosh women's cross country career with an All-America finish at the NCAA Division III Championship held Saturday (Nov. 23) at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

Keene completed the 6,000-meter race of 280 runners in a 39th-place time of 22:13 to become UW-Oshkosh's first All-American since Cheyenne Moore finished eighth at the 2017 Division III Championship held in Elsah, Ill. Keene also finished 174th at the 2016 Division III Championship, also held in Louisville.

UW-Oshkosh junior Hannah Lohrenz joined Keene as a participant at this year's Division III Championship. Lohrenz, competing in her first national meet, finished 185th with a time of 23:37.

Keene and Lohrenz earned two of 56 at-large berths into Saturday's Division III Championship after finishing 17th and 19th, respectively, at last Saturday's (Nov. 16) Midwest Regional held at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Parley Hanman of Ithaca College (N.Y.) captured Saturday's individual title with her time winning time of 20:54. Hanman was competing in her first national meet.

Genny Corcoran of State University of New York at Geneseo finished second to Hanman with her time of 21:12 while Isabel Cardi of Dickinson College (Pa.) placed third in 21:20, Whitney Rich of Whitman College (Wash.) fourth in 21:24 and Kassie Rosenbum fifth in 21:25.

The team title at this year's Division III Championship went to Johns Hopkins University (Md.). The Blue Jays, who finished second at last year's national meet, scored 125 points on Saturday to claim their sixth Division III title.

Rounding out the top five teams on Saturday were second-place and defending national champion Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.) with 138 points, third-place Williams College (Mass.) with 168, fourth-place University of Chicago (Ill.) with 208 and fifth-place Carleton College (Minn.) with 210.

UW-Oshkosh was not among the 32 squads participating in the team competition.
