Jaeke Collects WIAC Volleyball Athlete Of The Week Award

UW-Oshkosh rightside/outside hitter Samantha Jaeke was chosen as the WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week for matches held Oct. 14-20.

Jaeke hit .329 with 37 kills, eight digs, six blocks and two assists as UW-Oshkosh extended its winning streak to five matches with 3-1 victories over Lakeland University on Oct. 16 and UW-Stout on Oct. 18.

Jaeke eclipsed a milestone during UW-Oshkosh's home win over UW-Stout. She recorded a career-high 20 kills and surpassed 1,000 career kills on the opening point of the fourth set. Jaeke, whose 20 kills against UW-Stout were the most by a Titan since Tina Elstner had 26 in 2017, became the first UW-Oshkosh player to reach 1,000 career kills since Elstner accomplished the feat last season.

In UW-Oshkosh's road win over Lakeland University, Jaeke totaled 17 digs with four blocks and three digs.

Jaeke, who hit .333 against UW-Stout and .324 against Lakeland University, helped UW-Oshkosh clinched a berth into next month's WIAC Championship with its win over UW-Stout.

The WIAC named defensive specialist Taylor Scalia of UW-Eau Claire as its Defensive Athlete of the Week.
