Titans Win Six Events At Red Hawk Invitational

The UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team won six events, including four running, en route to a second-place finish at the Ripon College Red Hawk Invitational held Saturday (Feb. 2) in Ripon.

UW-Oshkosh scored 153 points to finish behind St. Norbert College's winning total of 181. Carroll University placed third in the 12-team meet with 81 points while Ripon College finished fourth with 49.5, Concordia University Wisconsin fifth with 34.5 and Viterbo University sixth with 30.5. UW-Oshkosh entered the meet ranked ninth in the NCAA Division III by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Cheyenne Moore led UW-Oshkosh with her winning time of 4:58.65 in the mile run. Moore's time, the fifth fastest in the NCAA Division III this indoor season, established a personal best.

The Titans also received first-place performances of 25.70 seconds in the 200-meter dash from Lauren Wrensch, 10:50.93 in the 3,000-meter run from Ashton Keene, 10-11 3/4 in the pole vault from Megan Leahy and 41-10 3/4 in the shot put from Kahley Logan.

UW-Oshkosh had two of the top-three times in the 1,600-meter relay as the Titans' A Team finished first with a run of 4:05.20 and the Titans' C Team third in 4:18.83.

Placing second for the Titans were Moore in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:50.93, Sadie Huth in the long jump with a leap of 17-4 1/2 and Amanda Van Den Plas in the mile run with a time of 5:13.48.

Other third-place results for UW-Oshkosh belonged to Wrensch in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.93 seconds, Danae Prange in the triple jump with a skip of 34-5 1/2 and Katie Retzlaff in the long jump with a measurement of 17-0 1/2.

The Titans' fourth-place finishes featured the time of 2:23.87 in the 800-meter run by Lindsay Denu, the distance of 34-2 in the triple jump from Hanna Gray and the mark of 49-0 in the 20-pound weight throw by Allie Marineau.

Taking fifth place for the Titans were Alexandra Demco in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.11, Theresa Richards in the pole vault with a height of 9-8, Grace Tempesta in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.81 seconds and Mikaela Zolecki in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 47-7.

Sixth-place mentions went to UW-Oshkosh's Huth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9l81 seconds, Logan in the 20-pound weight throw with a measurement of 47-3 and Zolecki in the shot put with a flight of 36-6 3/4.

Earning UW-Oshkosh's seventh-place finishes were Marineau in the shot put with a distance of 36-5 3/4 and Melissa Srnka in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.54.

The Titans' scoring performances concluded with the eighth-place finishes of Retzlaff and Jenna Trione. Retzlaff ran to a time of 15.06 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles while Trione leaped to a height of 4-9 in the high jump.

UW-Oshkosh competes next Saturday (Feb. 9) at the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational in Whitewater.
