Titans Win Nine Events At ONU Holiday Invitational

Titans Cara Volz and Lauren Wrensch were winners in two events apiece as the UW-Oshkosh women's track & field team totaled nine first-place results at the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invitational held Friday (Dec. 7) in Bourbonnais, Ill.

The non-scoring meet featured competitors from Elmhurst College (Ill.), Olivet Nazarene University and UW-Oshkosh.

Volz won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.17 seconds and the triple jump with a distance of 36-7 1/2 while Wrensch won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.63 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 19-2 1/2. Volz also placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.65 seconds.

UW-Oshkosh had four other event winners on the track as Melissa Srnka won the 400-meter run with a time of 1:03.73, Hannah Lohrenz the 800-meter run in 2:23.91, Breanna Van Den Plas the mile run in 5:39.69 and Evlyn Noone the 3,000-meter run in 10:18.21.

The Titans' remaining first-place finish came in the field category, where Megan Leahy marked a winning height of 11-3 3/4 in the pole vault.

UW-Oshkosh's six second-place finishes included the winning times of 8.44 seconds in the 60-meter dash by Kiley Lynch-Youngman, 2:24.56 in the 800-meter run by Alexis Reichardt and 10:23.37 in the 3,000-meter run by Amanda Van Den Plas.

The Titans also had Kahley Logan in the shot put and Theresa Richards in the pole vault finish second with measurements of 39-7 1/4 and 10-4, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team of Lohrenz, Reichardt, Srnka and Breanna Van Den Plas contributed a second-place finish with their time of 4:19.14.

Sadie Huth earned two of UW-Oshkosh's third-place finishes by registering a time of 10.06 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles and a mark of 16-9 3/4 in the long jump.

Other third-place listings to the Titans' Morgan Endries in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.30 seconds, Lindsay Denu in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.45, Allis Marineau in the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 49-1 and Danae Prange in the triple jump with a skip of 34-1 1/4.

UW-Oshkosh's four fourth-place mentions included a pair by Mikaela Zolecki and one apiece by Hanna Gray and Grace Tempesta. Zolecki recorded measurements of 48-3 1/2 in the 20-pound weight throw and 38-8 3/4 in the shot put while Gray bounced to 32-9 1/2 in the triple jump and Trempesta ran to a time of 10.09 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Titans also received a fifth-place leap of 16-1 1/2 in the long jump from Lynch-Youngman, a fifth-place throw of 38-7 3/4 in the shot put from Taya Fleischman and a sixth-place time of 10.76 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles from Katie Retzlaff.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it hosts its annual Alumni Meet on Jan. 12 in Kolf Sports Center.
