Sherry Receives WIAC Track Athlete Of The Week Award

UW-Oshkosh's Taylor Sherry has been selected as one of the two WIAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners for meets held April 18-24.

Sherry was chosen as the league's top track performer, while Amber Williams of UW-Platteville was selected as the conference's best field competitor.

Sherry won the 100-meter hurdle race at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by UW-La Crosse on April 21-22.

Sherry outran 23 other opponents with her winning time of 14.37 seconds. Her performance now leads the conference and ranks sixth in the NCAA Division III this season.

Carolyn Saulsberry of Hamline University (Minn.) finished second to Sherry with a time of 14.39 seconds, while Olivia Fixsen of Winona State University (Minn.) placed third in 14.76.

Sherry also placed eighth among 26 contestants in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.38.

UW-Oshkosh ranked fourth in the 16-team meet with 90.5 points. Winona State University took first place with 184.5 points, UW-La Crosse second with 174.5 and UW-Stout third with 98.5.
