Strupp Named WIAC Field Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC has selected UW-Oshkosh's Breanna Strupp as one of its two Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week award winners.

Strupp received the league's field citation for meets held March 31 - April 6. Lexie Sondgeroth of UW-Whitewater was chosen as the conference's top track performer.

Strupp won competitions in both the shot put and discus at UW-Whitewater's Rex Foster Invitational held April 6.

Strupp defeated 28 shot put contestants with her first-place distance of 48-7 1/2. Shelby Mahr of UW-Whitewater placed second with a throw of 46-8.

In the discus, Strupp took won with a distance of 140-1. Genny Stringer of UW-Whitewater finished second among the event's 28 participants with a mark of 133-10.

UW-Oshkosh totaled 151.5 points to capture the team title. UW-Whitewater finished second in the nine-team meet with 145.5 points and UW-Stevens Point third with 144.
