Leffler Named WIAC Tennis Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC chose UW-Oshkosh's Alyssa Leffler as its Kwik Trip Women's Tennis Singles Athlete of the Week for matches held Sept. 23-29.

Leffler went unbeaten in three No. 1 singles contests as UW-Oshkosh won dual matches against UW-Stevens Point, St. Norbert College and UW-River Falls in a four-day period.

Leffler lost only six games in defeating UW-Stevens Point's Barbara Covek, 6-0, 6-0, on Sept. 26; St. Norbert College's Lauren Paulson, 6-4, 6-0, on Sept. 28; and UW-River Falls' Isabella Kranz, 6-0, 6-2, on Sept. 29.

UW-Oshkosh won its three dual matches by scores of 8-1 over UW-Stevens Point, 7-2 over St. Norbert College and 9-0 over UW-River Falls.

The WIAC selected the UW-Stout tandem of Lauren Couves and Elizabeth Wentzel as its Doubles Athletes of the Week.
