Morgan Counts, Brianna Theobald and Erica Van Riper won in both singles and doubles play as the UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team defeated UW-River Falls, 7-2, on Friday (Sept. 27) in River Falls.

Counts and Van Riper worked together to post an 8-3 win over Kelsey Hochberger and Makayla Newberry at No. 1 doubles. Counts then recorded a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Hochberger at No. 1 singles, while Van Riper earned a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Brittany Mohn at No. 4.

Theobald and Hannah Bostwick won at No. 2 doubles with an 8-3 victory over Mohn and Kayla Rosenow. Theobald followed that performance with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Newberry at No. 2 singles.

UW-Oshkosh (5-4, 2-1 WIAC) tallied its remaining team points on individual wins by Valerie Langkau in the third flight and Andrea Larson in the sixth. Langkau defeated Hannah Klimek, 7-6, 6-1, while Larson ousted Rosenow, 7-5, 6-1.

Kelly Mendel was involved in both team points for UW-River Falls (0-5, 0-3 WIAC). She paired with Klimek to defeat Maggie Bolton and Llora Waldman, 8-5, at No. 3 doubles before topping Waldman, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5 singles.

UW-Oshkosh battles UW-La Crosse and NCAA Division II Winona State University (Minn.) on Saturday (Sept. 28) in La Crosse.
