Titans Earn 12 Top 15 Finishes At Wisconsin College Showcase

Mariah Marowsky swam to three top seven finishes to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team at the Wisconsin College Showcase held Saturday (Oct. 19) in Brown Deer.

The non-scoring meet featured NCAA Division I teams UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh's NCAA Division III rivals Beloit College, Carthage College, Lawrence University, UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater.

Marowsky finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.45 and seventh in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles with times of 25.00 and 54.62 seconds, respectively.

Sydney Challoner, Rebecca Birriel and Alyssa Hassel also had strong performances for the Titans.

Challoner placed ninth in both the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard breaststroke with times of 2:20.39 and 2:37.99, respectively, and 10th in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:19.51.

Birriel finished 11th in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:43.66 and 14th in both the 200- and 400-yard individual medleys with times of 2:26.44 and 5:15.64, respectively.

Hassel ranked 16th in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:24.88, 22nd 200-yard individual medley at 2:31.58 and 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:18.30.

The diving featured Titans Danielle Tesky and Allison Wucak placing in the top 20 in both categories. Tesky finished 12th with 170.95 points and Wucak 17th with 132.60 off the 1-meter board while off the 3-meter plank Tesky placed 14th with 144.25 points and Wucak 16th with 138.10.

A pair of Titans, Hannah Cunningham and Jennifer Lutz, recorded a pair of top 24 finishes. Cunningham listed 15th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.75 and 24th in the 100-yard freestyle at 57.83 seconds. Lutz placed 20th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.24 and 21st in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:23.99.

UW-Oshkosh also collected 500-yard freestyle finishes of 18th (5:57.52) from Paige Betthauser, 19th (6:10.05) from Lexi Gray and 21st (6:22.05) from Brianna Beseler.

Leah Perreault rounded out UW-Oshkosh's top 25 mentions with her 24th-place time of 3:27.36 in the 200-yard breaststroke.  

The Titans did not place in the top five of the two relays contested.

UW-Oshkosh competes in a dual meet at Carroll University on Friday (Oct. 25).
