Titans Record 12th Straight Win Over Green Knights

Behind a balanced attack, the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team ruined St. Norbert College's home opener with a 5-0 victory over the Green Knights on Tuesday (Sept. 23) in De Pere.

The Titans, who had five different goal scorers, have now won their last 12 meetings with the Green Knights. UW-Oshkosh leads the all-time series between the teams by a 15-3-1 count.

UW-Oshkosh (4-3-1) took an early lead, which proved to be the game-winning score, on Rachel Elliott's goal during the 14th minute (13:55) of play. Rachael Elliott rebounded Kali Jahn's missed shot and sailed a kick into the net for her third goal of the season. A pass from Katelyn Fladten created Jahn's shot.

UW-Oshkosh took that 1-0 lead and a 16-4 advantage in shots into halftime.

The second half was all UW-Oshkosh as they scored four more goals, including the first of the season for Fladten, Maddie Dallman and Megan White.

UW-Oshkosh opened the second-half scoring on a goal by Robyn Elliott just 2:14 (47:14) after the break. Robyn Elliott's second goal of the season came off a deep cross from sister Rachel (Elliott).

Amanda Baalke assisted on the next two UW-Oshkosh goals, including a score from Fladten in the game's 66th minute (65:26). A goal by Dallman in the 74th minute (73:40) put the Titans ahead, 4-0.

White scored UW-Oshkosh's final goal in the 82nd minute (81:52). St. Norbert College (2-4) failed to clear the ball and Leah Rivas retrieved it for the Titans and delivered a perfectly executed pass to White.

UW-Oshkosh doubled St. Norbert College in shots, 26-13. The Titans also had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

A total of 12 players attempted shots for the Titans, including Baalke and Robyn Elliott who launched six each and Felicia Retrum who fired three. The Green Knights were led by the three shots from both Shannon Jung and Kaitlin Schmitz.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Nina Muzi saved five shots for her third shutout of the season. Sarah Platzer had seven saves for St. Norbert College.

UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Stout in its WIAC opener on Saturday (Sept. 27) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. It will be the second league game for UW-Stout, which posted a 2-1 victory over UW-Platteville on Sept. 20.
