Titans Register Easy Win Over Blugolds

Nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh dominated UW-Eau Claire in each of the four event categories to clearly defeat the Blugolds, 186.90-178.70, in a women's gymnastics meet held Friday (Feb. 21) in Eau Claire.

UW-Oshkosh, which entered the day ranked third in the Division III Rating Index compiled by RoadToNationals.com, tallied event team scores of 47.20 on the vault, 47.075 in the floor exercise, 47.025 on the balance beam and 45.60 on the uneven bars.

UW-Eau Claire, ranked last among the 15 Division III programs in the country, earned event team scores of 45.475 on the vault, 45.20 in the floor, 45.10 on the balance beam and 42.295 on the uneven bars.

UW-Oshkosh scored 186-plus team points for the sixth straight meet by owning the winning performance in four of Friday's five event categories.

The Titans swept the top-four listings in the floor exercise as Rahdea Jarvis won the event with a score of 9.575. UW-Oshkosh also had Olivia Keller finish second with a score of 9.525, Emily Gilot third at 9.475, Jessica Bernardo fourth at 9.325 and Trinity Sawyer sixth at 9.175.

UW-Oshkosh's Baylee Tkaczuk recorded a pair of victories by finishing first on the uneven bars with a score of 9.45 and tying teammate Kaira Hammond for the top reference on the balance beam with a figure of 9.525.

The uneven bars competition featured three other Titans finishing in the top six as Gilot placed second with a score of 9.40, Jarvis third at 9.325 and Bernardo fourth at 8.90.

Other Titans listing in the top six on the balance beam were Paige Mayhew, Rachel Morris and Alyssa Nore. Mayhew finished fourth with a score of 9.375 while Morris and Nore both placed fifth with counts of 9.30.

UW-Oshkosh's Gilot captured first place on the vault with her score of 9.65. The Titans had four other top six finishers on the apparatus as Sawyer placed second with her score of 9.50, Jarvis third at 9.475, Haley Minor fourth at 9.325 and Haley Volstad sixth at 9.25.

Jordan Ehde of UW-Eau Claire won the all-around competition with a score of 34.90.

The margin of victory (8.2 points) for UW-Oshkosh in Friday's meet was its largest since defeating Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.), 176.40-168.20, on Jan. 21, 2012.

UW-Oshkosh will compete in a dual meet at 14th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College next Saturday (Feb. 29).
