Titans Pull Out Another Photo Finish

It was another exciting finish for the UW-Oshkosh women's gymnastics team, as for the second time in as many home meets, the Titans rallied in the final rotation to narrowly-defeat a visiting opponent.

UW-Oshkosh's latest come-from-behind triumph was a 184.150-183.975 decision over Winona State University (Minn.) on Friday (Feb. 6) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans outscored the Warriors by 1.25 points (46.450-45.200) in the final rotation to erase a deficit of 1.075 points and create a victory by less than two-tenths (.175) of a point.

UW-Oshkosh previously rallied in the final rotation to edge UW-Eau Claire by a 183.375-182.500 score on Jan. 16.

Krystal Walker earned a pair of victories for the Titans against Winona State University. She won the all-around competition with 37.225 points while taking the top ranking on the balance beam with 9.275.

Walker also placed third in the floor exercise with 9.50 points, fourth on the vault with 9.275 and sixth on the uneven bars with 9.175.

UW-Oshkosh's Danielle Turner recorded a score of 9.60 in the floor exercise to share first place with Winona State University's Brooke Hiestand.

The Titans had five of the top six finishers on the balance beam. In addition to Walker, Amanda McBrayer placed second with 9.25 points, Leane Blais fourth with 9.175, Barbara Bass fifth with 9.15 and Tabitha Dorshorst sixth with 9.10.

UW-Oshkosh's Kimberly Robertson finished second on the vault with 9.375 points, while McBrayer placed third with 9.325.

On the uneven bars, the Titans also received a third-place score of 9.275 from Elizabeth Kiel and a fourth-place value of 9.25 from Kasandra Stamopoulos.

Taylor Ennocenti contributed to UW-Oshkosh's victory by placing sixth in the floor exercise with a score of 9.425.

Winona State University also acquired wins from Jade Donaldson and Kathryn Pipp. Donaldson won the vault with 9.45 points and Pipp the uneven bars with 9.50.

UW-Oshkosh's team score was its highest of the season. The Titans scored 46.45 points in the floor exercise, 45.95 on the balance beam and 45.875 on both the uneven bars and vault.

Winona State University compiled its overall team score with 46.80 points in the floor exercise, 46.025 on the uneven bars, 45.95 on the vault and 45.20 on the balance beam.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it visits UW-Stout on Feb. 20.
