Priebe Named All-American Scholar
The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) named UW-Oshkosh freshman Kayla Priebe as one of its 830 All-American Scholars for the 2015-16 academic year.
Priebe, an accounting major, compiled a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while helping UW-Oshkosh to a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) title and a 14th-place finish at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championship.
Priebe played all 20 18-hole rounds for the Titans this past season and averaged 82.7 strokes per round to earn All-WIAC First Team honors. She finished second at the WIAC Championship with 245 strokes (54 holes) and 49th at the NCAA Division III Championship with 242 (54 holes).
Priebe also placed second at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational, third at the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational and fifth at the Viterbo University Invitational.
Other WIAC golfers recognized for their performance in the classroom were Taylor Egnarski and Lindsay Neitzel from UW-Platteville; Rachel Hernandez from UW-Stout; and Breanna Bertschinger, Kaitlin Bowe and Stephanie Stair from UW-Whitewater.
Players must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale to be considered as an All-American Scholar.
