Titans Take Fourth At Mad Dawg Invitational

UW-Oshkosh received a sixth-place finish from McKenzie Paul as it ranked fourth in the team competition at the Mad Dawg Women's Golf Invitational held Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28-29) in Stevens Point.

UW-Stout won the 11-team event with a 36-hole score of 638 strokes, 54-over-par. Viterbo University finished second with 674 strokes, while UW-Whitewater placed third with 693, UW-Oshkosh and Cardinal Stritch University fourth with 707 and UW-Platteville sixth with 720.

Paul led UW-Oshkosh on the par 73, Stevens Point Country Club course with 166 strokes. She posted daily scores of 83 to share sixth place with Alison Van Heuklom of UW-Stout.

Brit McNett-Emmerich of UW-Stout captured the top individual prize by totaling 150 strokes, four-over-par. Sydney Clement of Cardinal Stritch University finished second with 159 strokes, Julia Callaghan of Viterbo University third with 162, Mariah Chesley fourth with 163 and Cortney Cobb of Cardinal Stritch University fifth with 165.

In addition to Paul, the Titans had Theresa Henke finish 14th with 171 strokes, Samantha Kuik 29th with 182, Sarah Sheldon 36th with 188, Taylor Wenzel 40th with 191 and Emily Mallek 47th with 198. The event featured a total of 60 golfers.

UW-Oshkosh concludes its fall schedule by competing at the WIAC Championship this weekend in Nekoosa. Competition in the three-day tournament begins Friday (Oct. 4) and concludes on Sunday (Oct. 6) at the Lake Arrowhead Golf Course.
