Paul Wins, Titans Place Second At Own Invitational
McKenzie Paul fired the best two rounds of the tournament to capture the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 7-8) at the Oshkosh Country Club.
The Titans finished second in the seven-team meet with a score of 718. Viterbo University totaled a 36-hole score of 699 for first place, while UW-Stevens Point came in third at 741 and Carroll University fourth at 756.
St. Norbert College listed fifth with a mark of 761, as UW-Platteville and UW-Whitewater tied for sixth at 781.
Paul carded a 78 on Saturday and an 81 on Sunday to win by four shots. McKenna Prestigiacomo tallied a 163 for second. Viterbo owned the third, fourth and fifth-place finishers with Heather Zuleger (168), Stephanie Gerber (169) and Julia Callaghan (172).
UW-Stevens Point's Tiffany Boak compiled 177 strokes for sixth place. Ripon College's Abby Fish counted 178 for seventh, while Carroll's Ashley Alfaro used 181 for eighth.
UW-Oshkosh had Theresa Henke and Samantha Kuik tie for eighth with scores of 181. Sarah Sheldon contributed a 184 to earn 12th place. The Titans also received a 22nd-place result of 194 from Taylor Wenzel.
The Oshkosh Country Club played to a par of 73 at 5,812 yards.
The Titans compete at the Viterbo University Invitational next weekend (Sept. 14-15) in La Crosse.
