Schmidt Voted To National All-Freshman Team

UW-Oshkosh guard Taylor Schmidt was one of 10 players named to the All-Freshman Team by Women's DIII News.

Schmidt started all 30 games for the Titans this season, averaging 10.2 points and 2.9 assists. She also made 127 free throws – ranking third in the WIAC. Schmidt pulled down 71 rebounds while adding 39 steals and eight blocks.

Against UW-River Falls on Jan. 11, Schmidt scored a career-high 21 points with 4-for-5 shooting beyond the arc. She dished out eight assists during the Titans' victory over Northland International University on Nov. 18.

Women's DIII News selected Sydney Moss (Thomas More) as National Player of the Year.

The remaining members of the All-Freshman Team were Alycia Rackliffe (Framingham State), Ali Doswell (Amherst), Kaitlyn Read (N.Y. University), Bria Smith (New Jersey City), Gillian Glackin (Messiah), Holly Tonry (University of Dallas), Lisa Murphy (Carnegie Mellon), Katie McDaniels (Wheaton, Ill.) and Jessica Salottolo (Cal. Lutheran).

Women's DIII News Postseason Issue

UW-Oshkosh (26-4) advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and finished ninth in the D3hoops.com rankings.
