Titans Place 17th In 29-Team Blugold Invitational

With a good portion of its runners scheduled to compete in Minnesota on Saturday (Sept. 29), the UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team still managed a 17th-place finish at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational held Friday (Sept. 28) in Colfax.

UW-Stout won the 29-team meet with 75 points while St. Olaf College (Minn.) ranked second with 82, UW-Eau Claire third with 111, Carleton College (Minn.) fourth with 112 and UW-Stevens Point fifth with 134.

UW-Oshkosh placed 17th in the team standings with 492 points. Concordia University Wisconsin finished 16th with 490 points and Indian Hills Community College (Iowa) 18th with 503. The Titans ranked seventh among 13 teams at the 2017 UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational.

Justin Skinkis led the Titans by completing the five-mile race with a 67th-place time of 26:34.

UW-Oshkosh rounded out its scoring as Fabian Salinas Arroyo finished 101st with a time of 26:55, Kiernan Koepke 109th in 27:04, Parker Scheld 151st in 27:27 and Bennett Krueger 164th in 27:32.

UW-Eau Claire's Patrick Treacy paced his way to the individual title with a winning time of 24:40. Carleton College's Lucas Mueller finished second among the meet's 438 runners with a time of 24:42 and unattached runner Darin Lau third in 24:43. 

Other UW-Oshkosh entries finishing in the top 225 were Brian McKnight with a 169th-place time of 27:37, Zachary Molland with a 188th-place time of 27:44, Bob Szymanski with a 207th-place time of 27:53, Collin Borazo with a 211th-place time of 27:55 and Jack Rindahl with a 225th-place time of 28:03.

UW-Oshkosh concludes its schedule for the weekend by participating at Saturday's University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.
