Damkot, Titans Finish Third at UW-Oshkosh Open

With Trevor Damkot's third place finish, the UW-Oshkosh men's cross country team finished third out of four teams at the UW-Oshkosh Open held on Friday (Oct. 24) at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.

Trevor Damkot finished the 8,000 meter course in third-place, in a time of 26:41.  In second was Alexander Rink of the Wisconsin Track Club with a time of 26:22, and the individual champion was Dawson Miller of UW-Whitewater, who paced the field of 59 competitors with a time of 26:05.

Along with Miller's first place individual finish UW-Whitewater also was the top team finisher at Friday's meet with 36 points.  In second was UW-Platteville with 45, and fourth was Cardinal Stritch University with 95.

Also competing for the Titans was Luke Geffers, Charlie Scott, Nathan Nozzi, Jordan Black, Daniel Massey, and Kyle Peotter.

Geffers finished fifth in a time of 27:13, Scott thirteenth in 27:55, Nozzi eighteenth in 28:22, Black twentieth in 28:26, Massey twenty-second in 29:23, and Peotter twenty-fourth in 30:46.

The next meet for UW-Oshkosh is the WIAC Championship at Ettrick on Nov. 1.
