Young Titans Capture Red Hawk Invitational

Led by four freshmen, UW-Oshkosh won the Red Hawk Men's Cross Country Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 7) in Ripon.

The Titans totaled 32 points in the team standings, as the Milwaukee School of Engineering placed second with 58. Ripon College came in the third position with 98.

Joe Zack won the individual title by 19 seconds with his 8,000-meter time of 27:25. UW-Oshkosh also received scoring from freshmen Tyler Miletti (27:56) in fifth place, Mitch Pauers (28:24) in seventh and Alex Balister (29:00) in 13th. Junior Jacob Hansen contributed to the team total with his sixth-place result of 28:02.

Other Titans finishing strong in the 42-man field were Charlie Scott, Jacob Clarke and Jordan Black. Scott crossed the line 18th at 30:07, while Clarke took 23rd at 30:53 and Black 26th at 31:26.

Milwaukee School of Engineering's Austin Wright placed second in 27:44. He was followed by Harrison Smith at 27:47 and Jason Smith at 27:53. Nik Stasinopoulos (MSOE) then earned eighth place with a mark of 28:37.

UW-Oshkosh heads to the UW-Parkside Invitational next Saturday (Sept. 14).
