Titans' Depth No Match For Vikings

UW-Oshkosh's depth was too much as it totaled 31 top-three finishes during a 112-12 victory over the Lawrence University men's track & field team on Saturday (Jan. 18) in Kolf Sports Center.

The Titans, who finished ninth at last year's NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, overpowered the visiting Vikings with their 11 first-, 11 second- and nine third-place finishes among the meet's 14 events.

Titan Benjamin Jung sprinted to a pair of wins with his times of 7.00 seconds in the 60- and 22.25 seconds in the 200-meter dashes.

UW-Oshkosh's other winning performances on the track came from the times of 50.09 seconds in the 400-meter run from Adrian Grione, 1:58.19 in the 800-meter run from Andrew George, 8.58 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles from Mory Bamba and 3:30.74 in the 1,600-meter relay (Todd Beadle, Ethan Burch, Robert Ogbuli and Cornelius Woods).

In the field, UW-Oshkosh's victorious measurements came from the marks of 6-8 3/4 in the high jump from Justin Rivers, 22-9 1/4 in the long jump from Jamyle Brantley, 48-10 3/4 in the triple jump from Jonathan Wilburn, 15-5 3/4 in the pole vault from Eli Tranel and 56-5 1/4 in the shot put from Jackson Sheckler.

Among UW-Oshkosh's second-place listings were the times of 7.02 seconds in the 60-meter dash from Ogbuli, 22.57 seconds in the 200-meter dash from Burch, 50.67 seconds in the 400-meter run from Amitai Wheat and 4:42.14 in the mile run from Jason Ford.

The Titans' other second-place performances came from the measurements of 47-9 3/4 in the 35-pound weight throw from Sheckler, 22-7 3/4 in the long jump from Aaron McCarroll-Richardson, 46-6 1/4 in the triple jump from Joshua Jones, 6-2 3/4 in the high jump from Lochlan Siegmeier, 53-3 1/2 in the shot put from Nick Tegtmeier and 15-0 in the pole vault from Joe Vils.

UW-Oshkosh's 1,600-meter relay team of George, Andrew Muskevitsch, Steven Potter and Andrew Strasser also finished second with their time of 3:42.72.

Nine different Titans finished earned third-place finishes, including Ogbuli, McCarroll-Richardson and Potter who ran to times of 22.63 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 7.02 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 9:05.50 in the 3,000-meter run.

UW-Oshkosh's third-place mentions on the track concluded with the times of 51.44 seconds in the 400-meter run from Carter Hendrickson and 8.87 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles from Morgan Malm.

Completing the Titans' third-place efforts were the measurements of 46-3 1/2 in the triple jump by Bamba, 46-1 1/2 in the 35-pound weight throw by Jacob Dennison, 14-0 in the pole vault by Zachary Emmer and 22-1 3/4 in the long jump by Justin Johnson.

UW-Oshkosh will perform at the Ripon College Red Hawk Opener next Saturday (Jan. 25).
